After a few frustrating experiences with grooming businesses in Miami, and the total absence of self-service options in our area, we were inspired to launch a mobile pet grooming business of our own: The Barking Spa.
The Barking Spa is a locally-owned and next-generation luxury mobile pet grooming concept founded here in Miami.
We wash and groom your pets in a fun-loving, safe and clean environment from the comfort and convenience of your front door!
Pet Grooming Policies
Photographs: At The Barking Spa, you may see a picture of your dog on our social media. It can take place before, during or even after the grooming process for the purpose of education, promotion or website use. The pictures will be provided to our clients.
Matted Dogs: Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of cuts, nicks or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the dog’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow and reveal skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. As the owner, you are responsible for the condition of your dog’s coat and may not hold The Barking Spa Mobile Grooming responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal.
Behavioral issues: We will make every attempt to groom uncooperative pets, but we may not be able to complete grooming on pets that pose a threat to themselves, other pets or our groomers. We reserve the right to stop an ongoing session or/and decline a return appointment for pets whose behavior makes it unsafe for us to groom them, the full agreed rate of service or a percentage of the session will still be assessed.
Pet injury: We would never intentionally harm your pet, and every precaution is taken to see to it that your pet is handled in a kind, loving, and humane manner. Grooming equipment is sharp, and pets are wiggly/moving creatures, so even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, there is a possibility of a pet getting cut, nicked, scratched, or the nails quicked, etc. If an injury occurs, we will administer first aid treatment immediately and let you know. Veterinary bills from matting, old-age, or preexisting conditions will be the responsibility of the owner.
Allergies: We only use products such as shampoo and conditioners certified for pets. However, if your pet has any kind of allergy like sensitive skin let us know when making the appointment beforehand. Thus, our mobile pet grooming team can use the right product on your pet.
Flea treatment: Shampoos are available for an additional charge. Pets with fleas will be treated and charged automatically.
Appointment: Appointment times are given in an hour time frame. We will arrive as closely to the scheduled time as possible. You will be called in advance when schedules change beyond our control due to unpredictable situations.
Missed appointment/cancellation fee: If you want to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you will be charged 50% of the agreed full service. Also, if we attempt but, for any reason, are unable to groom your pet you will be charged a $30 fee or the agreed full service cost, at groomer’s discretion.
Prices: Do NOT include de-matting fees, tick/flea removal, or specialty cuts. Initial quotes are estimates based on what was discussed with the client prior to the first visit. Your groomer will adjust the price accordingly if needed once they have met your pet.
Payment: Payment is due at time of service. The Barking Spa Mobile Grooming accepts cash, credit cards, Venmo and Zelle. Cash is preferred. There is a 4% surcharge assessed on all credit card payments.
Tips: Are not required, however, it remains an appropriate way to say “thank you” for mobile pet grooming services that exceed your expectations.
Prices/estimates are based on a well-maintained hair coat and healthy skin. If your pet has not been groomed regularly, or if the coat has knots, tangles, mats, debris, parasites, or excessive dirt, there will be a Condition fee to cover up the extra time required. If the estimated required time is more than 20 minutes, our groomer will let you know the options recommended and its fees.
